The directions to the parking area and trailhead were spot on. That is the only good thing I can say about this hike. After a steep incline (you'll need both hands and feet), you enter a plateau. The guidebook mentions picking up a "game trail" and an "old jeep road". I roamed the plateau for 1.5 hours and found neither. I'm a well prepared hiker. I had a map and compass and still couldn't find anything. The plateau is overgrown with thickets that quickly make your walk unpleasant. I would not recommend this "trail" at all. If you choose to ignore my review, at least take this advice, wear pants or gaiters for your journey. I found the Frog Lake trail (same parking lot, just across the street) to be better maintained. Trail markers and all.
