A long ridge and meadow hike with close views of the Snoqualmie Crest peaks. Polallie means “dust” in the Chinook jargon, and the name is partly apt. Polallie Ridge Trail is a long, sometimes dry, dusty ridge hike on the high divide between Waptus and Cooper Rivers. But the trail also leads to a sparkling lake and through verdant meadows to a high ridge with spectacular views. This is not as popular as many other nearby hikes, since it is long and strenuous and takes its sweet time getting to the views, but the little bit of suffering is worth it in the long run. The views are that good, and the trail has a wilderness flavor that is unmatched by other, more accessible trails.
