Hike through second-growth forest from Wind River Road through Warren Gap and down to Panther Creek. Then climb to the crest of the Cascade Range and the top of Big Huckleberry Mountain and follow the ridge north to Crest Camp trailhead. There is no water along this section of the Pacific Crest Trail after crossing Panther Creek. If you plan on leaving a car where you begin this hike, it may be best to start at Panther Creek.

Hiking Washington's Mount Adams Country

Hike through second-growth forest from Wind River Road through Warren Gap and down to Panther Creek. Then climb to the crest of the Cascade Range and the top of Big Huckleberry Mountain and follow the ridge north to Crest Camp trailhead. There is no water along this section of the Pacific Crest Trail after crossing Panther Creek. If you plan on leaving a car where you begin this hike, it may be best to start at Panther Creek.
