Hike across the southern end of Indian Heaven Wilderness to Indian Racetrack, where Native Americans in times past raced their horses. Then, climb to the summit of Red Mountain. Indian Racetrack is a shallow groove cut across the meadow. Native Americans came to this plateau late each summer to pick and dry the abundant huckleberries. For diversion they wildly raced their horses across this meadow and gambled on the results.
