Hike from the Blue Lake Buttes trailhead across flower-covered ridges to Blue Lake Ridge Trail. Then descend along that trail to the shores of beautiful Blue Lake. Most of this route is open to motorbikes. Trails that are open to motorized travel are generally cleared wider than other trails, so the bushes don’t brush against the sides of your legs as you walk. This makes them much more pleasant to hike on a rainy day or, in many cases, the day after, while the brush is still wet.
