Hike this lightly used trail through old-growth forest to Tieton Pass and a junction with the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) on the very crest of the Cascade Range. Some route-finding skills are required to follow this route. Clear Fork Trail follows an abandoned roadbed leaving the trailhead. You hike south-east along the roadbed that is reverting to a trail, through small timber for nearly 0.2 mile. Here the roadbed ends; you enter old-growth timber and quickly pass the Goat Rocks Wilderness boundary. The trail passes a marsh surrounded with large western red cedar and Douglas fir 0.3 mile from the trailhead. A small lake can be seen 100 yards to the right of the tread 0.7 mile into the hike, and another 0.4 mile ahead Lily Lake comes into view, also 100 yards to the right.
