Ascend to the highest point in Goat Rocks Wilderness while taking in fantastic vistas and watching for mountain goats all the way. There isn’t much room on the summit, but try to allow enough time there to drink in the view. Mount Adams seems close to the south, and to the southwest Mount St. Helens rises in the distance past the headwater canyons of the Cispus and Klickitat River drainages. To the north Mount Rainier dominates the distant view past the rugged spine of the northern part of Goat Rocks, and close by to the northeast, Tieton Peak sits atop the divide between the North and South Forks of the Tieton River. Watch for mountain goats all along this route.
