Everyone in the family will enjoy the Rainier View trail once the snow has melted. The trail begins next to the rest room in the parking lot and starts out fairly level as it travels through forest, passes a boggy meadow, and gradually breaks out into the open.
The trail climbs to a rocky ridge, and in about 1 mile Mount Rainier comes into view. If The Mountain is hidden behind a layer of clouds, the variety of flowers will hold your interest. There are several viewpoints and vistas as the trail follows along and near the ridge crest.
