This backway winds through an intriguing expanse of forest scored by ridges and canyons. At the eastern end, you can tour an underground cave (Crawford State Park/Gardner Cave), and take a short forest hike from there to the U.S./Canada border. On a gravel and native-surface mountain road. The hike to the border is easy as well.
