This route offers the best of the glorious Teanaway Country for hikers. Fantastic views, spectacular wildflowers, sparkling creeks, plentiful birds and wildlife, and a moderate trail await hikers here. What’s more, this hike is perfect for dogs: plenty of water from the creek, lots of places to romp and play, and not too many hazards for our four-legged friends. In short, an ideal trail to explore and enjoy. This trail does cross rattlesnake country. Dogs must be kept on leash at all times when rattlesnakes are active (warm summer and early fall months) to reduce the risk of snakebite. This trail is best visited in spring and autumn when the vipers are less active. But at all times, be aware that rattlesnakes may be encountered and know the proper actions to take in the event of snakebite.
