This trip visits Newberry Caldera, a collapsed volcano similar to Crater Lake. Newberry Caldera features the largest obsidian glass flow in the United States, two magnificent lakes, and a spectacular drive to the top of a 7,985 foot peak. Easy paved road to Newberry Caldera. The wide gravel road to Paulina Peak summit is somewhat steep, and very twisty toward the end.
