This hike is one of the most popular in Kings Canyon National Park, taking you up the Kings Canyon and Woods Creek to alpine lakes, over a nearly 12,000-foot pass, and back down the scenic Bubbs Creek Canyon. Begin by following the second portion of the trail from Road’s End to the Bailey Bridge (Hike 50) in reverse. This brings you to the trail fork at 1.9 miles, just before the Bailey Bridge. From here, follow the trail to Paradise Valley (Hike 55) to the campsites at 6.5 miles. Beyond the camps, the trail dips and rises through the shade, continuing up the river valley.
