Copper Creek trail is a SERIOUS uphill test. The trail climbs over 5,000 feet in 8 miles. Most folks stop at Lower Tent Meadow for the first night, but we made it up and into the Granite Basin before stopping to camp. There are no good campsites between LTM and the ridge above Granite Basin. Once in Granite Basin, the scenery is incredible, Granite lake spills out into a river that fills several smaller lakelets. Trout were abundant, people were VERY scarce. One also sees plenty of deer and marmots. I would not do this hike in late summer!!
