There was a lot of variety along this road/trail, because it is so steep and passes through different vegetation zones. It’s rocky like an old-fashioned road bed in the lower parts; there are some dry, hard-packed parts; there are some meadow parts; there are definitely some creek bed parts; there are many mossy, emerald green parts; there’s a thick, pale green-blue lichen part; etcetera, etcetera. There’s also a sizeable rockslide at about 3400 feet that requires some rock-stepping. The variety helps take your mind off the steady steepness. This is not the place to take young children. If one slipped off the small view-perch, one might not survive.
