This run is easily accessible from Ellensburg and Interstate 90. Depending on the route you choose for the ascent/descent, you can have a steep quad killer or a more runnable meandering trail. Whichever path you choose, you’re going to get some hill work.
This route is bordered by spring flowers and has some nice shade on hot days. The steepest trail to the top lies between these other two and is easy to see from below. It goes right along the outer edge of the hillside corner. Whichever route you choose, follow it to the top, where there’s a logbook to sign in. There is also a memorial to Allan Westburg, a well-loved teacher who used to run on this trail.
