This leg-buster of a climb has a great reward on top: one of the best panoramas in the whole Columbia River Gorge, including a bird’s-eye view of Bonneville Dam, from a lunch spot atop 800-foot cliffs. And there are hot springs at the trailhead! You have two options for where to start this hike. Using the "official" trailhead on WA 14 at North Bonneville makes it a tromp of about 14 miles, though it does visit a lake and an additional viewpoint along the way. If that's what you're after, take the trail 0.6 mile from WA 14 up to the PCT and turn left, following the PCT 1.9 miles to Gillette Lake, then 1.3 miles to Greenleaf Overlook, then 1.7 miles to the top of the ridge, where the other route comes in.
