One of the Cascade Mountains’ great “secret places” lies immediately north of Crater Lake and west of Diamond Lake. Beautiful Fish Creek Valley contains broad floral meadows, dense forests, and an enchanting stream meandering through the middle.
Rocky crags and forested ridges rise sharply up the valley’s sides. Highlights include a remote dirt road takes you to a glorious meadowed valley bounded on both sides by wilderness and high peaks. At the end of the road, a grueling but beautiful hike leads to the summit of the Rogue-Umpqua Divide’s second-highest peak.
