A few yards from the trailhead you will start to descend the first of 58 wooden steps that take you to a switchback. Hemlock and fir line this path along a moss-covered slope. At the switchback, turn right and walk 30 yards to a viewpoint to look at Iron Creek Falls. Past the switchback, there are 16 more wooden steps and then a long step down to the creek bed. Walk up the creek bed 40 yards to get close to the falls. Iron Creek Falls drops over an undercut cliff and splashes with a roar into a beautiful pool at its base. As you climb the steps back to the parking area watch for the tiny white flowers that hug the side of the trail. Sit on the rocks and admire the falls.
