This short spur trail connects with the Skyline Trail and has great views of the Tatoosh Range, Mount Rainier, and the Nisqually Glacier. If you want to hike the Skyline Trail but would prefer a shorter, more gradual ascent, consider the Dead Horse Creek Trail as an alternative. In August, wildflowers, including lupine and Lewis monkey-flower, line your path. Very nice day hike suitable for small children or less active adults. Add in the proximity to the Paradise Lodge, and you get a five star hike for anyone, with an awesome view of the glacier.

I'm not a fan of hiking on paved trails but this was quite nice. Lots of wildflowers, little streams and nice views of both the mountain and the surrounding areas. The trials closest to the Paradise visitor/lodging area can be quite crowded. Early morning is best as by the afternoon the trails are quite crowded.
