Beautiful trail with few users. We only saw 4 other groups and no one was camped at Camp Handy with us but...the bridge was out at approx. mile 3 and was a little sketchy to get across but it is doable. The directions from trails.com area not exactly correct and can easily get you lost...like we were for about 2 hours. Look at the forest service for better directions. Basically trails.com tells you to avoid FS road 2870 and that is actually the one you want and you are on FS road 28 before the pavement ends so go right and stay on the pavement when you have the option to go left to follow 28 on the dirt (or you will end up 25 miles away from where you want to be). Follow the posted signs to the Upper Dungeness Trail and the forest service directions and you'll be there much faster and much less frustrated than following trails.com directions! Overall great trail and would have been perfect if not for the downed bridge and getting lost before we even got to the trail.
