We hiked to Michael's Cabin and Humes Ranch, very pretty and easy, but a little muddy. The Rica Canyon trail is very steep and very muddy! IT was a nice hike overall, nice weather and calm, and not many other hikers. We weren't able to get down to the river though because there were other campers and we did not want to disturb them. The only downside to the whole trail though, and the reason I'm only giving it a 4, was that NO DOGS are allowed.

Snow begins covering the trail at 4200' elevation. There are 50 trees across the trail below snow line. The ford is not recommended at this time due to high water. Deep snow in the high country.
