A long, round-trip day hike or a two-day, round-trip backpack in the Mount Jefferson Wilderness. A potpourri of pleasure, Mount Jefferson is one of the largest and most popular wilderness areas in Oregon.
Its 111,177 acres consists of dense forests, alpine meadows where fragile wildflowers dance a windy tune, and swift rivers. There are tiny streams, lava fields, open ridges, and mountains to climb. Special attractions: Fine views; solitude (along portions of the trail); wildflowers.
