Great Hike. The guide here however is aliitle wrong and a needs an update. First the wrong. It speaks of turning on to S molalla Rd. The Road is actually named South Molalla Forest rd, other than that the directions are Good. Now the update. In 1994 there were 2 landslides that covered the last 1.5 miles of the gravel rail access Rd. so now instead of a 2.5 mile one way hike its a 4.0 miles one way. not much of a problem though since the 1.5 miles is virtually flat accept where it breifly leads you up and around the slide. After about 1/4 to 1/2 mile from the original trail Head, The trail T's into another trail. you will want to make a left turn or twords the streamers hung in the tree. if you go the other way you will head for Rooster rock not Table Rock. also ther is a talus slope you most traverse other than that the trail is in excellent shape. The view from the top is well worth the climb. Rainier, Hood, Jefferson, Jack ,Washington, 3sisters all visible, plus the buildings of Downtown Portland and the Fremont Bridge as well.

Trail is well maintained and the only problem on the way to the top is a field of basalt boulders that have to be crossed, about 1/4 mile of it. Otherwise, trail is through a beautiful forest. From the top, Ranier, St. Helens, Adams, Hood, Jefferson, and the Sisters are visible. The approach road is washed out and thus the distance to the top from the car is now 4 miles not 2.5 miles. The first part of the hike is along the old road past the wash-out so is easy, but allow at least an extra hour for the trip.
