I have done this hike twice, and both times it was dark and foggy. I couldn't see the view from the top, but the trail, forest, and flowers themselves are enough to make this hike well worth it. I recommend arranging transportation so that you can start at one end (near Manzanita) and end at the other (near the Devil's Cauldron turnout). Plan to be wet!
Wonderful little hike, takes under 2 hours (round trip) and the reward is an incredible view of the Oregon Coast. I'm told that during February/March you can sometimes spot the Grey Whales migrating north for the summer. We had a nice sunny day in January and you could see for miles. Great short hike when visiting the Oregon Coast for a weekend.
This is a great hike on the Oregon coast. It is just a few mile past Oswald west park on the 101. This must be one of the best views on the coast. You could see down the coast line for days. Great vegatation on the trail.
