A fine sandy beach extends beneath high bluffs and between two access points on the way to the Point Wilson lighthouse. The hike can be made in either direction: Children won’t care. Of all the hikes along the strait, this may be the one children will love the best. Water and sand play possibilities are infinite. On a clear day, Mount Baker stands as guardian over them as they wade, dig, build sand castles, and throw sticks to dogs to fetch from out in the waves.
