This large, rounded, meadowy knoll offers supreme views of the Columbia River and Mount Hood to the south, and of Mount Adams with its enormous old lava flow to the east. Children feel happy and excited about reaching the site of an old lookout on what used to be part of the Pacific Crest Trail. Their summit exhilaration is tempered with awe, however, by the majesty of the view.
