A spectacular 360-degree viewpoint and a former lookout and aircraft spotting station lie at the top of this short, steep trail. Driving the access road is like driving part of the trail. Older children will love climbing to the top of the mountain and surveying the meadows, ridges, and forest below, as did former lookouts. Luscious blueberries ripen in August and September. Carry water as there is none on the trail and none at the lookout.

I couldn't even find the trail head. Granted, I didn't have a map with me, but the description was a bit too sketchy...

After a 20 mile paved and dirt road drive came to trail head for Evergreen Mountain. 1.5 mile hike, fairly steep in the beginning with little shade especially in the afternoon. Trail passes through some trees at 1.2 miles. Nice vintage fire lookout at trail end. Trail is in good condition. Pit toilets at the top. Huckleberries along trail. No water. Beautiful sunsets.
