This was a great trail! Great views, great heart rate (switchbacks) and great payoff at the top. The lake is BEAUTIFUL! I brough both my dogs, everyone on the trail didn't seem to mind, and more so welcomed them. There were many other dogs as well. The lake was semi covered with ice still and the trail a bit muddy at times but a great hike overall
incredible, great for kids. can get right up to the falls. about 5 miles out and back without hitting Lake Serene (just to falls).
Good trail for early in the summer or late spring. Fairly easy trail, incredible waterfall and views into the valley. Very crowded, get there very early if going on a weekend.
Trail head is marked only Lake Serene, no mention of Bridal Veil Falls. The trail starts as you go past a road barrier and head up a road. When I was there this morning, there were walking sticks left by the trail head sign. I would have been helped much by taking one! There are upwards of 20 water crossings on the trail to the falls, and the last 8 are guaranteed to fill your boots at the very least.
It was a very rainy day so perhaps other days are not so bad, but at this point, the trail is largely covered in mud and running water, especially further along. I wore head to toe Gore-Tex and I still ended up soaked within the first 30 minutes.
The falls are gorgeous. The last 1/2 mile is pretty steep, with water rushing down the trail, and the smaller falls you have to navigate through to get to the end are full and difficult to cross. It's worth the view, as it's such a short trip, but this is not a place I'd take a child.
