This 6.9-mile trip makes a loop into the heart of the scenic Indian Heaven Wilderness and offers a healthy sampling of the area’s lakes, forests, and meadows. As a day hike or overnighter, this moderately difficult trip offers a good introduction for novice campers and backpackers. Camps at many of the lakes make a good base for further excursions to remote lakes or along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT). Come here in fall and you’ll also find some of the best berry picking around.
