This 13.4-mile out-and-back day hike or backpack in the Mount Adams Wilderness leads from peaceful forests and lava flows to the fields of wildflowers and the ice-covered flanks of Washington’s second tallest volcano. From a base camp in the scenic meadows of Foggy Flat, the intriguing volcanic landscape of Mount Adams invites exploration. By leaving a car at the Killen Creek Trailhead, you can return via a pleasant semi-loop along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and descend through meadows and more meadows along the Killen Creek Trail.

This 13.4-mile out-and-back day hike or backpack in the Mount Adams Wilderness leads from peaceful forests and lava flows to the fields of wildflowers and the ice-covered flanks of Washington’s second tallest volcano.

From a base camp in the scenic meadows of Foggy Flat, the intriguing volcanic landscape of Mount Adams invites exploration. By leaving a car at the Killen Creek Trailhead, you can return via a pleasant semi-loop along the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) and descend through meadows and more meadows along the Killen Creek Trail.
