This 11.4-mile point-to-point day hike or backpack south of Ross Lake in Ross Lake National Recreation Area surveys some of the finest forests and most striking peaks south of the Skagit River. Along the way you’ll pass along two streams, one plunging through a deep canyon, the other a broad, gentle valley. Several camps along the way provide opportunities to extend your trip. The North Cascades area is a land not only of high, rugged peaks and perpetual snow but also of deep canyons, big rivers, and dense forests.
