Pfeifferhorn is one of the best summit hikes in the Wasatch. A scenic canyon trail leads to a glistening alpine lake. A challenging traverse over a saddle of large boulders and a steep scramble to the 11,326-foot summit offer wonderful views.

Enjoyed a short hike up this trail to the first encounter with the river. Beautiful time of year to go, the scent of the woods is great and the views are great. Haven't made it to the lakes yet, have to plan more time but I'm certain this is a great hike to the top.

A fantastic overnight back packing trip if you only want to drive 15 minutes out of the valley. The trail is long and passes over the 10,000 foot mark which tends to turn 75% of the people back that you will find along it's busy lower sections of this old mining road. The lake is man made but peaceful none the less.
