Similar to the Eagle Ridge Loop, the longer Genoa Loop offers superb views of Carson Valley backdropped by the Pine Nut Mountains to the east. In addition to the sweeping vistas, the trail leads to a pretty, short waterfall near the midpoint. This is an excellent spring and fall hike.
Summertime visitors should plan on an early start to avoid the afternoon heat. Passing through the quaint, historic town of Genoa offers the possibility of grabbing a meal or enjoying a libation at Nevada’s oldest bar after the hike.
