This is an enjoyable hike of moderate duration -- about four miles roundtrip. Not a good idea in the summer months, but we went in October and the weather was perfect.
From where you park your car, it's about a mile back to the abandoned mine, which you can't miss. Not much of the mine to see, so other than taking a few photos of the structure at the top of the hill, it's not worth venturing any farther to see the opening.
Shortly thereafter, you'll catch a glimpse of the Liberty Bell Arch. Just past it you come to a delightful view of the Colorado River. High above the river, it's a good place for lunch, before retracing your steps back to your car. Be careful crossing the road because of the construction and widening of the road.
