A strenuous 5,000-foot climb to the top of Mount Nebo’s south summit in the Mount Nebo Wilderness. Spectacular views of northern and central Utah. Mount Nebo is a demanding trip—not recommended for hikers looking for an easy day hike. The trek can be made in a day, but you may find a two-day backpack more enjoyable. You climb 5,000 feet in about 5.5 miles. Trail 8 miles one way not 5. Very steep best for 2 day trip. Beautiful! Only water around mile 5 may dry up by late august. Several good camping sites around mile 4. Tons of flowers and wildlife. Supposedly shorter route off Nebo Scenic Byway which would cut 10 miles and tons of elevation gain off trip. If you want short way
