This trail is an old road which used to go to the farms in the area. For much of the trail, there are signs of the old irrigation system. The trail is not crowded until you approach the San Pedro House close to Highway 90. Most of the trail will leave you alone with your thoughts and the wildlife.
The views of the river and the cottonwood trees are beautiful. Walk quietly and you will have the opportunity to see deer and the abundant bird life that the San Pedro River is famous for. This is a nice alternative to the mountain hikes in the area when the weather turns cold.
