Nice Trail. Easily accessible from PCH. The trail itself is well difined and maintained with little to no obstacles. The only elevation gain happens in the beginning in the residential section. Once you pass that the trail drops down and follows the stream bed fed by the falls. It's a quick hike that only takes about and hour round trip. Once you reach the falls, the is a steep and treacherous rocky climb that can take you to a higher observation point.
this is a very easy trail with a big payoff at the end! the falls are really beautiful when there is water. if you can scramble up the gully to the right of the lower falls you can pick your way to the upper falls which are amazing. we went on a sunday and it was very crowded, lots of kids, dogs, horses, but that did not make the trip any less enjoyable.
A pleasant unexerting hike with a nice pay-off. The waterfall is great even when the water level is down. Get there early, we were at the trailhead by 7:00 A.M., and you can have one of the prettiest waterfalls in the Santa Monica Mountains all to yourself.
