Formerly the North San Gabriel River Trail, and renamed in 2013 in honor of a city employee, this trail is a serious rival to Austin’s Barton Creek Greenbelt for best urban trail of the region. It connects the city of Georgetown to the Good Water Loop around Lake Georgetown, via the North Fork San Gabriel River. This well-maintained trail is an important piece of Georgetown’s appeal as a place to live and visit. It winds along the lush North San Gabriel River Valley to the Lake Georgetown dam and then climbs a cedar-covered slope to reach Overlook Park on the lakeshore.
