This is a perfect short hike for San Franciscans. It's very close to the city and easy to get to. It was a pretty good workout for someone like me who isn't in tip-top shape. The view from the top is just stunning, even on a foggy day. I plan to revisit this trail many, many more times.
Awsome trail run. It is a tough trail, but just enough up and downs to keep you moving forward. It took me about 45 mins, but I am just a beginner trail runner. Highly recomend it. The views at the top, about half way around, are worth all the work to get up there.
As a novice, I couldn't have picked a better trail. It's so close to home, yet you still get the feeling of being in "nature." It's the perfect mix of dark, shady eucalyptus forest and dry, low-lying shrubbery. Strenuous enough for the beginning hiker without being too intimidating.
