Magnificent Yosemite National Park is the centerpiece of this area of the High Sierra region. But the Sierra and Inyo National Forests also contribute deep woods, sparkling lakes, soaring mountains, and wonderful vistas to the scene. The Sierra is home to 315 different animal species and 31 species of fish and contain hundreds of miles of trails, rivers, and streams. The Sierra Vista National Scenic Byway traverses many of the most dramatic parts of Sierra National Forest, including Fresno Dome and Nelder Grove, home to 106 mature sequoia intermingled with second-growth fir and cedar. Campgrounds included in this eTrail are: River Ranch, The Pines, Moore Creek, Lumsden, South Fork, Lumsden Bridge, Lost Claim, Cherry Valley, Sweetwater, Dimond O, Indian Flat, Jerseydale, Summit Camp, Summerdale, Nelder Grove, Soquel, Greys Mountain, Texas Flat, Kelty Meadow, Fresno Dome, Little Sandy, Big Sandy, Bass Lake Campgrounds, Chilkoot, Gaggs Camp, Whiskers, Upper Chiquito, Bowler Group Camp, Clover Meadow, Granite Creek, Whiskey Falls, Fish Creek, Rock Creek, Soda Springs, Lower Chiquito, Placer, Sweet Water, Mammoth Pool, and Little Jackass.
