Hiking Lassen Volcanic National Park

The mud pots, fumeroles and other volcanic activity at the end of this hike is one of the most interesting parts of the park. Even though part of the boardwalk is currently blocked off, it's still worth doing.
Note, you can save about a quarter mile walk each way by parking along the road by Lake Helen and picking up the trail there, instead of using the official parking lot.
