If lakes were judged on name alone, Tangle Blue Lake would be my second favorite in the Alps (Billy-be-Damned takes first, but just barely). Local legend attributes the name to a bad hangover. Tangle Blue is a pretty lake with a beautiful meadow on one side, plush campsites, and plenty of exploring potential. The hike is ideal for families or anyone looking for a gentle route. The only drawback is cows, which also appreciate the lakeside meadow and fine views. Though infrequent, they do visit. Highlights: An easy hike to a lake that lives up to its pretty name.
