Hiking California's Trinity Alps Wilderness

The fire that burned through this area, burned quite a bit of the lower trail up to Grizzly Meadows. In some places this just meant that the ground was free from debris and the very bottoms of the trees were blackened, in other places it's so burned out that camping there is an ashy, and sometimes eerie, affair (although still entireley great, you're camping, right?). The majority of the first 15 miles are burned to some extent, though all of the cabins, mining ruins, etc, still look great. This trail was probably amazing before the fire; it's still very nice hiking, and will again be great in a few years. The trail description is correct, the hike in is very nice, and eveything with Grizzly in the name lives up to its reputation. Many people came in through the newer trail, which is another option.
