The Price River has a surprisingly large stream flow considering the dry, desolate-looking surroundings. Your path parallels the river into a stark, desolate, remote, and wild region. Opportunities for side trips include Trail Canyon, which has a double track trail that ascends to the top of the Book Cliffs in a Wilderness Study Area. A second alternative is to take 3 or more days to hike down to the Green River and back out, or continue down the Green into the town of Green River. The latter would be a long hike into very remote backcountry.
