The trail drops into a tiny arroyo that deepens as it works its way off the bench and down into Goblin Valley. There is no more trail here, but in the open valley it’s easy to see the pavilion to the north. Take time to wander through the “goblins,” the highlight of this trip. As you start to gain a little elevation, the little wash narrows and deepens, transforming into Goblin Valley’s version of a delightful, miniature slot canyon. At its narrowest the little slot is around 20 feet deep with sloping walls about 2 feet apart at foot level.
