This trail is closed and won't reopen for at least a year due to storm damage. The water comes from Navajo Lake, a short distance away through a lava tube. Put it on your calendar for late 2010.
My wife and i hiked this trail with our four and two year old girls. The trail is short and quite easy. About a third of the way up the trail. There is wonderful scenic overlook. With views of the whole valley, reaching all the way to the backside of Zion National Park. At the end of the trail, there is pretty nice waterfall, coming out of the side of the mountain. There is a wooden platform right beside the waterfall. It should be noted that the trail ends near the top of the waterfall, not the bottom. It's quite easy to walk right up to the waterfall if you wish. However, fight the desire to go up into the cavern from which the water comes out. apparently there is a dangerous level of gas found within the cave. I once heard of a couple of hikers dying inside there, not sure if it's true or not though. I would recommend this hike for anyone who is looking for an easy hike to water, views, and for those short on time. (1 mile round trip)
