The crystal clear waters of Lake Catherine reflect the image of nearby Sunset and Pioneer Peaks, which top out at just over 10,000 feet. The trail continues up the ridge toward the peaks, making it possible to get a bird’s eye view of the lakes. Climbing to Sunset Peak adds just less than 2 miles and 300 feet in elevation to the trip. Alternately, you may follow the path over the ridge to the west into Albion Basin and on into Alta.
