A short but exciting drive across sometimes lunar-like terrain culminating in a gorgeous view of Hidden Canyon. The road up to the canyon rim is a little narrow and steep in places, but there are no narrow shelves. Careful tire placement is important for stock vehicles. Skid plates are helpful. Route-finding can be tricky across two large expanses of slickrock. You may have to occasionally scout ahead to find the trail. Watch for cairns in the distance. Blue Hills Road is extremely slippery when wet and is completely impassable after a prolonged period of heavy rain.
