Hiking Yosemite National Park

A very difficult hike through Aspen forrest, Beaver Damns, Waterfalls, and beautiful flowers. I am 66 with bad hips so some of the terrain was very difficult to navigate. If it wasn't for my hiking polls and a much younger friend staying with me I would have quit much earlier on the trail. You have to cross several small rivers on logs where you could easily lose your balance. The end result, the largest of the waterfalls, is well worth the effort. Have plenty of water, snacks with protein, and sun screen.
I love this hike. The wildflowers are abundant in the spring and in fall the aspins are ablaze. The cascading waterfall at the end of the canyon is a great place to relax. In the past I have made the climb up to lake Helen but the trail up the talus is now in poor condition. Younger folks may feel confident to scramble up it but this old lady will stay in the canyon from now on.
