Very good backpack to the ten lakes basin. We went during the week and trail traffic was light. Good campsites along first lake , although it is crowded. Pass first lake and head along trail to may lake /glen aulin and the next lake is more secluded and quiet.
This was a strenous hike, but well worth it when you saw the beautiful lakes and views. 5 ladies from 44 to 70 made it, so so can you. The weather was perfect, a few mosquitos but not as bad as I expected. The lakes are so peaceful and fun to day hike from one to the other. Lots of deer to see, no bears or animals bothering our stuff at all. Just a fantastic time and sights u can not see anywhere else.
This was my first ever backpacking trip and it is going to be one I will always remember. I had been to Yosemite may times but always in the valley and to see the sights out there was unbelievable. Even at the height of backpacking season there wasn't hardly any out there. The day after hiking to the lakes was spent entirely on fishing and exploring the other lakes (we made it to five of them and swam in 2 of them). Plenty of misquitos that we could have done without but an awsome trip none the less.
